Asun lähellä Suomenlahtea ja näen, miten sen kunto heikkenee. Teen maalauksia ristiriitaisissa tunnelmissa. Ihailen merimaisemaa ja pelkään varsinkin talven lumon katoavan. Maalaukseni ovat muistumia rannalta kohti horisonttia. Olen tavoitellut sään tuntua, keskitalvea, merisumua ja jäätynyttä merta.

I live near the Gulf of Finland and witness its deteriorating state. I paint with conflicted emotions: admiring the seascape while fearing, in particular, the loss of winter’s magic. My paintings are recollections from the shore looking out towards the horizon. I have sought to capture the atmosphere of the weather—midwinter, sea fog, and the frozen sea.
